12 cute AUTUMN/FALL outfits to wear in london
I usually hate it when the leaves start to fall and the sun retreats earlier and earlier each day. But this year I’m feeling slightly optimistic. I’m looking forward to the cute fall outfits, the casual chic look, think oversized blazers with trainers. There are plenty of staple cosy knitwear from Zara and H&M this autumn 2022. I’m actually pretty excited for fall to get the show on the road. Just not too cold please. In this post I’ll outline autumn items that are trending. The best part, I’ve linked all affordable brands! From casual adorable easy pieces to complete outfits. So below are the 12 cute autumn/fall outfits to wear in London this 2022.
AUTUMN/FALL OUTFIT IDEAS:
1. Baseball caps
This look goes well with a casual hoodie or oversized sweater. But dress your smart work attire down with a baseball cap for a more casual cool aesthetic. Here are some caps I am loving. Especially if like me you want a more casual autumn look for those fall Sundays.
2. oversized blazers
For some more fall outfits here is one of my favourites. I feel like oversized blazers won’t be going out of fashion anytime soon. The baggier the better. Short skirts and thin tights are definitely cute this autumn. But when it gets too cold, thicker tights can make this perfect for a winter outfit.
3. KNEE HIGH BOOTS
Another popular of the fall fashion trends. Knee high boots are perfect especially with jeans or skirts and no tights (while you can!). But I can assure you above the knee boots outfits are so in for winter fall fashion. Try be a little daring this autumn and change it up, you don’t have to wear all black this autumn. Autumnal wear doesn’t mean you need to stick to oranges or browns. You heard me, white or beige can work too. Pair some white/cream boots with a white teddy coat or oversized winter coat.
4. Matching jumper and SKIRTS
H&M have done an excellent job this autumn 2022. I usually end up chucking on jeans and a jumper but H&M is making it so easy to be more eventful this fall. Match a sweater/jumper with a skirt. I absolutely love the miniskirts – a dark brown jumper and skirt may seem odd but with a checkered pattern and some colour in your boots and your coat- statement!
5. SWEATER WITH A TIED JUMPER
That old money look is coming back around. Tuck a thin sweater into oversized or wid leg suit pant trousers with a jumper tied over your neck. Complete this with a clutch bag and keep your hands in your pockets at all times- just joking. But you’ll look extra cool.
6. Trainers
Not just trainers on their own, that isn’t really very groundbreaking. But look ultra classy and cool this fall with a neutral outfit. Whether it be a oversized blazer, trousers and similar colour palette top with a coat. Dial it down with some sneakers. It’s that effortless look that’s really not that effortless.
7. Oversized trench coat
So obviously a coat becomes an essential when we get closer to winter. Bet hear me out an oversized trench coat with a little bag and trainers or sneakers if you may can look really cute. Even chuck on a miniskirt and matching jumper with high knee boots and throw that baseball cap on. As this tones down this classic autumn look into a more casual autumn outfit. I’d also add as many light colours for a more neutral cool aesthetic.

8. Square thin sUNGLASSES
More fall outfit ideas, sunnies. I perhaps differ to popular opinion when it comes to oversized sunglasses. Since Lauren Conrad, I will wear these and you can’t stop me. But I have recently started to accept the fact that thin square glasses. With an all black outfit you will really look cool girl this fall.
9. ACTIVEWEAR
Yes. We wore it in summer and we can wear it in autumn. Instead of cycling shorts and a baseball hat perhaps leggings will be best in the cold London air. A matching set with an oversized trench coat and trainers. You’ll look ever so trendy popping to the shop this fall for some errands. But maybe don’t forget the autumn trench coat if you decide on cycling shorts over leggings.
Gymshark and Bo + Tee sell trendy activewear. Here is a post on Bo+Tee.
10. Chunky Boots
Despite having many questionable comments thrown my way when I first opted to buy some chunky boots. Mainly pointing out it was quite daring and not my ‘usual style’. I think a lot felt this was way too edgy for my look. But this I think is exactly why it works and why it is so in style. Feminine outfits with these chunky boots make it such a bold look. This trend is here to stay and the likes of Jess Hunt and Lorna Luxe making this appear a staple part of their wardrobe- it’s time to invest. I do find some can be particularly heavy on your feet (lol). I invested in some cheap chunky ones from SHEIN (see above in 3. Knee High Boots section) these are not heavy at all. But probably won’t stand the test of time.
11. SMALL CLASSIC NEUTRAL BAG
With statement pieces such as the oversized blazers, trench coat or matching outfits/activewear it would be perhaps too loud to add a colourful or large bag to draw away from your outfit. A small classic structured bag will bring some elegance to your outfit this autumn.
12. All Neutral
This trend is without doubt an obsession of mine. I breathe neutral colours in my wardrobe so mixing it up and wearing all light cool colours for winter is beyond exciting. Really quite the contrast from your typical autumn colour, give it a go to stand out this fall.
