7 Spring 2022 Trends by Vogue from SHEIN
So from following in Vogue’s footsteps, this post is dedicated to following the Spring 2022 trends but here is the twist ALL items are from SHEIN.
Bold colours are back and jumpers are becoming a thing of the past. Iteams are getting shorter than short shorts. Florals for spring are a thing but not the way you think. And it might be a no to holey jeans this spring but not to knitwear…
1. Don’t Change Your Stripes
So Vogue have told us that optical, black-and-white stripes from Courrèges and Tory Burch breathe new life into neutral colors. And do this by pariing with bolder knits- if you are brave white tights!
I’ve tried this with the Petite Split Hem Zebra Striped Skirt (only £5!!)
- Embrace Popcorn Texture
So following the comeback in the ’90s by Marine Serre and Dries Van Noten with popcorn, designers like Chet Lo, have made bubbly knitwear apparently chic, making this look delicate in pastel colours. Minimal styling is argued to complete the look.
I love the popcorn texture dresses at the moment but I still do not love those tops so I opted to try this look with a cardigan. I have on the popcorn knit button front cardigan. And managed to find a somewhat classy neutral number. I would potential pair with a longer skirt next time but you see what I’m doing!
3. Trust That More is More
Bold prints are BACK. Loewe’s blurred tie-dye and Proenza Schouler’s abstracted zebra patterns are a thing.
This can be paired with bolder colours if you are brave.
I’m wearing SHEIN’s Zebra striped fringe trim backless knot halter top. I probably could have gone bolder than black trousers but I think this is a subtle way of bringing bold prints back to life.
4. Think Short—Really Short
Really short mini skirts are in. The likes of Prada have dabbled with satin and a large train. Or Saint Laurent with tweed and faux-fur hem. I decided to follow the Versace trend and try out a mini skirt with a sexy slit.
But to avoid drawing unwanted looks I have opted to wear sandals instead of heels and will continue to! Prada and Chanel also put swimsuits on the catwalk so you can now rock a bikini top in the day!
This is the SHEIN zip side slit hem satin skirt and I’ve tried it with a bikini style top.
5.Let florals grow on you
Florals, for Spring? Groundbreaking. Who knew three-dimensional blossoms protruding from your garments would be a thing? But Vogue says yes!
I’ve decided to try this floral trend in a more wedding guest, family event type look.
Here is the Jacquard Plicated Detail Cami Dress in Apricot
6. Go Casual With Color-Block Jackets
So Vogue have told us Leather jackets and dark blazers, will forever be in. GREAT. BUT why not try and experiment with a color-block track jacket or bomber this spring? Taking style from the sports field. And with the fact that nothing is too bold this summer try a hot pink like Valentino.
I did try this and thought an oversized jacket would look cool but I’d suggest definitely sizing down as this is a size 10.
SHEIN X Anthony Vanderwoo colour block striped Raglan Sleeve– this was on the more expensive side at £34.
7. Channel your holey spirit
April 25th is the perfect date as its not too cold and not too hot. On these days Vogue have suggested following in Stella McCartney shoes and don textured mesh, latticed knitwear. Supposedly being warm enough for the breeze but allowing offers the best of both worlds: It’s warm enough for springtime breezes but still allows for optimal sun exposure. Rick Owens, Raf Simons, and more are purposefully punching out their sweaters to show a little skin. Wear yours with a maxiskirt and sleek sandals for a long, lean look.
Here I tried the Romwe Cyber Luvr Solid Distressed Jumper (£15) potentially the colour black wasn’t the one for spring but I felt edgy!
