The French capital has many excellent restaurants serving everything from traditional dishes to modern cuisine. Scroll down for some restaurants you may have heard of with a view of Paris or for some cheap delicious cafe spots!
Best Restaurants in Paris- Breakfast
1. Cafe Marly: If you are looking for restaurants with a view in Paris, this is located with a view of the Louvre. You can get a really cute shot with the Louvre in the background but be prepared to pay the price. Café Marly is located at the Place de la Madeleine in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. It was founded by Louis XVIII in 1820 as an ice cream parlor. Today, it serves coffee, tea, pastries, sandwiches, salads, soups, and desserts. An ice latte here costs 8 euros and you won’t find a cocktail under 15 euros. But to be honest I found a majority of places in Paris charged around this for coffee— it isn’t cheap! The view from the restaurant simply makes it one of the best in Paris.
2. Cafe Kitsune: This is a 5-10 minute walk from the Louvre and has really nice coffee. (I’d say better than Cafe Marly and a regular we would stop off at). It also serves tasty snacks such as cakes and cookies. So arguably for us, it is one of the best cafes in Paris. It was founded by Japanese chef Kazuhiro Kitamura who wanted to bring his culinary expertise to France. There are some seats inside the cafe but its more of a take away type place.
Cafe Restaurant Limonade: Located in Montemarte if you are heading to the viewpoint, stop off here for a coffee break. If you want to feel like a local Parisienne. Arguably one of the best cafes in Paris because of their tasty coffee and it’s location. If you are enroute to the Sacré Coeur- this is the perfect spot to take a break from the uphill battle. Not as Instagrammable as the other cafes but delicious coffee.
Best Restaurants in Paris- Lunch
4. Pink Mamma: Located in Montmartre. If you’ve ever been to Circolo Poplare or Gloria Trattoria in London you’d be pleased to know this is one of their chains! The truffle pasta while slightly overpriced was incredibly tasty but it isn’t a massive portion. The octopus salad or pizzas, however, are huge. We had the feta pizza and it was only around 10 euros! For a picture head up to the top of the stairs. When searching for Parisienne restaurants these stairs were notorious on Pinterest. Purley for this reason, this for me, is one of the most famous Paris restaurants.
5. Lou Lou: Another on the 10 best restaurants in Paris list is this elegant restaurant within the Musée des Arts Décoratifs serving Italian & French cuisine. This Parisienne restaurant also has views of the most-visited museum in Paris and popular landmark. This restaurant is on the pricier side but a stones throw away from the Louvre with perfect outdoor dining!
6. CoCo: Located in the center of Paris, CoCo Paris offers a unique blend of French cuisine and American comfort foods. This cool restaurant has been featured on Food Network and Travel Channel. This Cafe isn’t far from Perruche. You can choose to either sit inside or out. If it’s sunny, they’ll give you some of their merchandise hats to wear! A pricey lunch spot but really amazing food. Try the tuna steak here.
7. Le Train Bleu: If you’re looking for an authentic French meal, then head to Le Train Bleu. It’s located at the Gare de Lyon train station and serves traditional dishes such as escargot, steak tartare, and foie gras. This is quite far away from all the other places recommended on this post, but worth a visit and a famous restaurant in Paris. This restaurant is beautiful — train themed but with a palace-type aesthetic. The most popular item to order is the lamb leg which they cut and serve in front of you on their famous silver trays. Expect to pay upwards of 30 euros for a meal (for instance a small cheese platter costs 18 euros!)
Best Restaurants in Paris- Dinner
8. Peruche: A rooftop restaurant and bar with stunning views of Paris and more specifically views of the Eiffel Tower. While this is also a great spot for lunch, your booking is only yours for around 2 hours and this place receives plenty of bookings. They let you move to the bar and you can have a few drinks and get the best views of Paris as the sun sets. Food is reasonably pricey, we had the truffle pasta (32 euros) and the beef fillet (38 euros) and both were divine.
9. Matignon: This restaurant is located close to the Arc De Triumph and walking distance from the Sienne. Boasting a poshly decorated outside. This was my favourite dinner spot. I’d suggest going before heading on a night out as it turns into more of a club vibe. Think posh, fun, party restaurant. The food is delicious here, the truffle pasta was 32 euros. And the prawns were 19 euros for a starter. My friend had the steak and fries which I’d recommend after trying some and regretting not ordering it! Around 10pm the music gets louder, they hand out sparklers and its just an all-round good time.
10. Kong: Make sure to request upstairs when booking as this is where the large glass windows are and where you’ll want to be to watch the sunset. Cheapest bottle of wine here is 59 euros. So many people asked if I had been to this bar- it is well renowned and one of the most popular bars in Paris.
Any Advice
Book: Lunch, dinner and drinks. I’d make sure to book around a week beforehand, as restaurants like Coco will also only let you book one week in advance. I’d make sure to book in advance many of these popular spots, especially those with a view in summer.
