Fun activities to do in a group in London
This is a post on fun activities to do in a group in London.
This activity is: BYOB creative pottery painting! At Token Studio London
What it was like
We arrived slightly later then our designated 8pm timeframe. If you opt for the pottery making class make sure you come on time. If you aren’t there for the health and safety talk you can’t do the class!
Pottery Making: This session is £29 on groupon and there are extra charges of £10 for the first creation kiln firing service and £5 for the scones piece’s kiln firing service. This option you basically make your pottery on the kiln.
Pottery Painting: The session for just painting is £18 and includes 2 hours of boozing. You are able to keep the item you painted and can collect it in two weeks after it has been glazed!
As we planned on drinking a fair bit before going out and didn’t think making the pottery would end well!
(1) We arrived and were told to select the pottery item we wanted to pain. We then sat down got our booze out and were given a selection of paints. We were told to to use at least three coats for the colour to really pop.
(2) It took us pretty much the whole two hours to attempt to paint our pottery pieces. I actually really enjoyed this as an activity. A lot better than shouting across to each other at a bar. I’d suggest bringing plastic cups. As they only had some for the water fountain.
WHERE IT IS
Token studio is located just in between London Bridge and Bermondsey tube station at Token Studio St Saviours Wharf. Quickest way to walk there is from getting off at Bermondsey tube station.
Any advice
White colour: They didn’t actually have a white paint which made it difficult to mix different colours. They said if you wanted a white colour you should leave different parts of the pottery item as it is white anyway. So I wasn’t able to make a minimalistic cream mug but instead I’ve got a rather cute pink one!
Book on groupon: I’d recommend booking on Groupon on letting them know the price it is on groupon as they will let you pay the same price in the store. For 2 hours we were able to drink our Prosecco and paint away at £18! Pretty decent price.

That’s so cool! I know a pottery studio close to me (I’m in the S-W), but I haven’t been there in ages. Perhaps I should give them a call.

This is a great idea to have fun with friends while creating something that reminds you of the time spent together.
Arts + booze + friends. Awesome!
I would also prefer this over shouting across to each other at a bar!
