September 3, 2024

This is a Luxury Travel Guide to St Tropez South of France: 15 Places You Must Visit – Where to Eat, Stay, and Party. Famous for its sun-soaked beaches, glamorous restaurants, and vibrant nightlife, the French Riviera is one of the best places to go for your European summer vacation if you love to sunbathe and also party.

15 Places You Must Visit - Where to Eat, Stay, and Party.

TRAVEL GUIDE AND TIPS

In this blog post, I’ll recommend 15 places you must visit in this Luxury Travel Guide to St Tropez South of France: 15 Places You Must Visit – Where to Eat, Stay, and Party.  And give you tips on how to make your trip even better. Whether you’re planning a quick getaway or a long or leisurely holiday. This south of france travel itinerary will help you uncover the very best of the South of France.

Best Way to Do the South of France: Visiting the Best Cities

15 Places you Must Visit- Where to Eat, Stay, and Party

Where is St tropez in France? St. Tropez South of France is located on the southeastern coast of France, nestled along the French Riviera in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, between Marseille and Nice. The closest major airport is Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, with frequent flights from all over the world.

15 Places You Must Visit - Where to Stay

From Nice, you have a few options to reach the French Riviera, and a popular one is to make a stop in Cannes—a glamorous Riviera hotspot. Before heading to your final destination. We got an Uber from Cannes, which was convenient and took about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic. If you prefer, the train is also an option, connecting you from Nice to Cannes, and then you can take a ferry or continue by road to your destination.

Where to Eat: Best Places for a Chill Dinner in the south of france

1.Café Sénéquier – Right on the waterfront, Café Sénéquier is an absolute must when in the French Riviera. This legendary café has been around since 1887 and is where to go if you just want really good food without the large, loud atmosphere you’ll get at the beach clubs. I had the steak and fries, and it was insane. The vibe is quintessentially French, with those iconic red awnings and a constant buzz of excitement. Perfect for people-watching and soaking up that chic French Riviera atmosphere.

2.Café des Arts For something a bit more relaxed, Café des Arts is perfect. This charming spot is right in the center of town, with great traditional French food. The vibe here is casual and inviting, with a menu that offers a little something for everyone.

Where to Eat: Best Places for a Vibey Lunch or Dinner in the French Riviera

To properly experience the French Riviera in the summer, people typically book their lunch reservations at 4 PM and dinner not until 9 or 10 PM. The beach clubs then turn into a party, clearing the table settings, and people are encouraged to dance on the tables. Most of these places aren’t cheap but are so fun. A bottle of wine is typically 70 to 80 euros as the cheapest option.

3.Le Café St. Tropez is a charming and quintessential spot in the heart of the town, offering a perfect blend of traditional French ambiance and Mediterranean flair. A more relaxed spot that’s popular  among both locals and tourists looking to enjoy a leisurely coffee or a delicious meal. Perfect for people watching and more of a lunch time spot.

4.La Salama  If you’re in the mood for something a little different, La Salama is where you need to be. This Moroccan-themed restaurant is all about sophistication and style. This is a great spot to book for dinner and can get quite vibey.

Best Beach Clubs to Visit in the St Tropez

Next on A Luxury Travel Guide to the St Tropez: 13 Places You Must Visit – Where to Eat, Stay, and Party, we have my favorite part—the beach clubs!

5.Verde Beach Verde is all about laid-back luxury during the day, with a menu that is to die for—think fresh seafood, vibrant salads, and exquisite cocktails. But as the sun sets, Verde transforms into the ultimate party spot. We made a reservation when it was raining, and it was so quiet here, so they even said to us we could leave and wouldn’t be charged for our booking.

6.Gigi Ramatuelle is another gem in on Saint tropez beach. It’s a bit more relaxed than some of the other spots, with a fun, carefree vibe. They have a pool and outside area that is honestly stunning and great for pictures. As the night goes on, Gigi comes alive with music and dancing, making it the perfect spot to transition from dinner to party mode. It does turn into a party too, but I’d say the likes of Lou Lou, Bagatelle, and Nikki Beach cater to a younger crowd. There were a few families and older people here.

7.Lou Lou Ramatuelle Lou Lou is where you go when you want to feel like you’re in the heart of Paris, but with the laid-back charm of the Riviera. You can look out onto the beach, which is beautiful here.

It rained when we were here, and the outside is not perfectly set up for the weather, so make sure to bring something to cover up if you do have a booking on a rainy day. We still had a good time as it was summer, but people generally don’t come when it’s bad weather. I loved the mix of French classics with Mediterranean flair. And just like Verde and Gigi, Lou Lou knows how to turn up the energy as the night progresses. The majority of people, even families, were dancing on the tables as it was closing.

8.Nikki Beach Nikki Beach is synonymous with luxury and glamour and must on a south of france travel guide. This all-white beach club is the place to be if you’re looking for a high-energy party with international DJs, delicious cocktails, and a crowd that knows how to have a good time. Perfect also if you just want a chilled day sunbathing, then book for a late lunch to be there for the party vibe.

9.Bagatelle. Bagatelle is a must to visit on this South of France travel itinerary. Known for its elegant atmosphere and impeccable service, Bagatelle offers a perfect blend of fine dining and lively nightlife. This spot isn’t as popular as it used to be, and I’d pick the other spots over this now, but we did have a fun time, and it’s all in the same area.

Where to Party: French Riviera Nightlife

When the sun sets, Saint Tropez truly comes to life. Here are some of the hottest spots for just partying.

9.Kalamata Beach Club Kalamata Beach Club is a fantastic spot to start your evening. We came when Tyga was playing, and it was 50 euros entry. It was so good, though, and great for just partying. With its laid-back vibe, stunning views, and great music, it’s the perfect place to unwind before the real party begins. As the night goes on, the energy here builds, making it a great prelude to the more intense party spots.

10. Le Club 55 Le Club 55 is the epitome of French Riviera chic. This iconic beach club is where the who’s who of the South of France come to see and be seen. Super fun, these two were my favorite for just partying, and the other options above I’d go to for lunch.

Best Nightclubs to Visit in St. Tropez

The French Riviera is legendary for its vibrant nightlife. Offering some of the most exclusive and glamorous clubs in the world. If you’re looking to dance the night away.

11.Gaïo Restaurant & Club is a must-visit. Known for its stylish crowd and world-class DJs, Gaïo is where the party truly comes alive after midnight. It’s quite small but really fun vibes.

12.Les Caves du Roy, an iconic club located in the Hotel Byblos. With its opulent décor and celebrity clientele, it’s the epitome of St. Tropez nightlife. If you’re in the mood for something a bit more relaxed but equally chic.

13.L’Opéra St. Tropez offers a blend of dining, live performances, and a lively atmosphere, all set against the backdrop of the stunning St. Tropez harbor. This is only a 4 min walk from Café Sénéquier so I’d recommend getting dinner at the places I recommended above then heading here if you didn’t fancy a beach club one day.

Where to Stay

When it comes to accommodation, staying central for a St. Tropez holiday is key. Booking an Airbnb in the heart of the towns you can easily. And experience the quaint town and bougie shops. It’s a bit of a drive from St.Tropez beach where all the beach clubs are around like 15/20 mins. Not crazy but I’d stay here so you can come back from the beach clubs , get changed if needed then head to dinner or out. Whether you choose a charming villa or a modern apartment, you’ll be just steps away from the best restaurants, shops, and nightlife.

SEASON

When to Go: Timing Your Trip to Saint Tropez

The French Riviera is at its best during the summer months, with peak time being from June to August. The weather is warm, the beaches are buzzing, and the town is alive with energy. However, make sure to plan ahead and book beach clubs, restaurants, and even boat rentals well in advance. They are quite particular here and will turn you away if you are late.

What to Wear in the Luxury Travel Guide to St Tropez South of France: 15 Places You Must Visit – Where to Eat, Stay, and Party.

If you are looking to go out and party in the French Riviera, as a girl, you must wear heels at the nightclubs—they are pretty strict. For the day, think breezy dresses, oversized sunglasses, and wide-brimmed hats for daytime. For beachwear, go for stylish swimsuits paired with chic cover-ups in neutral tones.

Final Tips for Your French Riviera Getaway

  • Plan ahead and book in advance: Restaurants, beach clubs, and even boat rentals get booked up quickly, especially during peak season. Make sure you reserve your tables, club entries, and activities well in advance to avoid disappointment. And one more thing—don’t be late! St. Tropez is known for its high standards, and being punctual is a must.
  • Pack light, pack smart: Aesthetic is all about minimalism. Bring versatile pieces that you can mix and match effortlessly.
  • Embrace the European summer: France is at its best during the summer, so make the most of those long, sunny days and warm, balmy nights.
  • Dress code – As a girl wear these for any fancy places or check the dress code as a guy or girl they’ll turn you away.
