Best places to stay in Santorini, Greece – 5-star luxury hotels and on a budget
Read below for four must-visit hotels in Fira, Santorini, Greece — from charming boutique stays to luxurious getaways.

Suppose you’re wondering where to stay in Santorini and want to explore various options and views across different areas. Read on below. We cover luxury, budget, cave, and hotels with a view.
Where to stay

Depending on your transport option, where you want to stay will be highly influenced. Despite the island being small, taxis are costly.
There is public transportation, such as buses, but the timetable is unreliable, and the buses do not run on time. If you plan to use public transport, I’d suggest staying centrally in Oia or Fira.
If you have your transport or do not mind taking taxis, staying further out could be a better option.
1. Daedalus Hotel – FIRA
The Best Hotel to Stay at for Location

This boutique hotel is centrally located, just a 5-minute walk from the central Fira Square, bus station, and taxi rank, with Caldera views just a few steps away.
If, like us, your itinerary is to watch the sunrise in the morning, you couldn’t get much closer to the spot than from this hotel. Just be careful crossing the busy road.

The Daedalus Hotel features an outdoor freshwater pool and Instagrammable sunbeds.
A pool bar, sauna, and hydromassage are available for guests.
The pool was beautiful and had a Jacuzzi.
The hotel also features a bar and live music. The bar staff offers happy hour specials and provides guests with complimentary drinks.
The room we had wasn’t huge, but it was comfortable.
The facilities, however, are better than the room. All rooms feature balconies.
With breakfast included, this came to 154 a night.

There was a wide selection for breakfast, offering Greek and American-style breakfast options.
It’s not one of the best breakfasts I have had. I prefer to explore local spots for breakfast.

The hotel is 12 km from Athinios Port, 15 km from Oia, 9 km from the Airport, and 9 km from the Black Beach of Kamari.
Location: 10/10
Pool 8/10
Breakfast: 5/10
Ambience: 7/10
Hotel: 4*
2. Aegean Plaza Hotel- PERISSA BEACH

This hotel is further down the island from Oia and Fira, closer to Perissa beach. This 4.4* hotel is located 30 meters from the black sandy beach.
There are many restaurants and bars to choose from. Traditional Cycladic buildings meet contemporary chic with modern furniture. This hotel was £150 a night.

If you decide to take public transport, it is just a 10-minute walk to the hotel. The bus stops back at Fira bus station, making it easy to travel around the island.
The hotel has a central pool, fitness centre, tennis court, and two additional pools, including one for children.
This hotel has a party-type feel. I preferred the upmarket feel of staying in either Oia or Fira, but this hotel was stunning.

The breakfast buffet was one of our favourites. The selection is endless, and the views of the pool are incredible.
This hotel was particularly busy when we were there, making it difficult to navigate inside to the buffet area.
Location: 8/10
Pool 7/10
Breakfast: 6/10
Ambience: 6/10
Hotel: 4.4*
3. Antoperla Luxury Hotel & Spa
BEST ROMANTIC STAY, BOUTIQUE HOTEL STAY IN SANTORINI

This was the most expensive hotel we stayed in, at £300 a night. For good reason, it boasts a hot tub in each room! The room and facilities reflect the cost of the stay.
This luxury hotel is located only 100 meters from Perissa Beach in Santorini.

The one and only hotel spa in Perissa has 18 private pools.
Relax and unwind by booking a spa appointment. We particularly enjoyed the food at the restaurant and bar.
The hotel also offered complimentary cocktails! As mentioned above, this is more of a calm, romantic hotel with no children.
If you are after more of a quiet stay, this is the best hotel for you.

While you may have your private pool and sunbeds, the hotel pool is beautiful and offers delicious cocktails, it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind.
The rooms have air conditioning and feel cooler, a perfect contrast from the direct sun you’ll enjoy outside on your private balcony.
The breakfast options, however, were quite limited for a 5* hotel, but because of the rooms, service, and facilities, I’d still stay here again!
Location: 8/10
Pool 10/10
Breakfast: 9/10
Ambience: 8/10
Hotel: 5*
4. The Last Sunbeam- Fira Santorini Greece
THE BEST BOUTIQUE TO STAY AT WITH A VIEW ON A BUDGET

The last of the four places to stay in Santorini, Greece – best boutique hotels, luxury, and on a budget.
This is an adult-only hotel in the heart of Fira.
It is located on the quieter side of the island. This was the cheapest hotel we stayed in at £132 a night.
This Santorini hotel is also very central. It is 600 metres from Fira Theotokopoulou Main Square, which is very close to the Aegean Sea.
Fira Terminal bus station is around 5 minutes away downhill.

The room may reflect the price, but the pictures of the views of the Aegan Sea do not do it justice.
The hotel should really be more expensive! The hotel offers a continental breakfast included. Given that they do not have a restaurant on site, they bring this to you during your selected time slot.
You can also use the outside seating area to have your breakfast, looking out at these views.

Location: 8/10
Pool 7/10
Breakfast: 6/10
Ambience: 8/10
Hotel: 3*
The photos don’t do it justice – the views from this hotel are absolutely stunning. It is up there with one of the best views from a hotel I have stayed at!
Any advice
Transport- I wouldn’t recommend getting taxis, as they can be expensive, and the island is so small. You can hire a bus for a few euros.
For example, from Fira to Oia is only a 26-minute drive. However, I remember waiting 15 minutes for a late bus, so it might be worth hiring a moped.
If you are staying on different sides of the island, a bus is your best bet with luggage. If you’d rather hire a quad bike or moped, make sure to book in advance as they were fully booked on the Island when we wanted to use one.
Photos- If you are set on getting pictures at well-known Instagram spots, I’d recommend setting off early to avoid people in the background of your shots and to avoid queuing! These small towns can get very busy.

All of the hotels would be lovely to stay in. I am hoping to get to Greece soon.
These hotels all look lovely as does Santorini, the views and food look amazing, glad it’s reasonably priced also.
