Where to Stay in Santorini Greece Hotels
Depending on your transport option, where you want to stay will be highly influenced. Despite the island being small, taxis are costly.
There is public transportation, such as buses, but the timetable isn’t reliable, and the buses often run late. Stay centrally located in Oia or Fira if you plan to use public transport.
If you have your transport or do not mind getting taxis, staying further out could be a better option.

1. Daedalus Hotel – FIRA
The Best Hotel to Stay at for Location
This boutique hotel is centrally located, just a 5-minute walk from the central Fira Square and bus station, and the taxi rank is only a few steps away from the Caldera views.
If, like us, your itinerary is to watch the sunrise in the morning, you couldn’t get much closer to the spot than from this hotel. Just be careful crossing the busy road.

Daedalus Hotel has an outdoor fresh-water pool and Instagrammable sun beds. It also offers a pool bar, sauna, and hydromassages.
The pool was beautiful and had a Jacuzzi. This hotel also has a bar and music, and the bar staff offers happy hour specials, providing guests with complimentary shots and drinks.
The room we had wasn’t huge, but it was comfortable. The facilities, however, were better than the room, and all rooms featured balconies.

With breakfast included, this came to 154 a night.
A wide selection of breakfast options offered both Greek and American-style choices. It’s not one of my best breakfasts. I prefer to explore local spots for breakfast.

The hotel is 12 km from Athinios port, 15 km from Oia, 9km from the Airport, and 9 km from the Black Beach of Kamari.

Location: 10/10
Pool 8/10
Breakfast: 5/10
Ambiance: 7/10

2. Aegean Plaza Hotel- Perissa Beach

This 4.4* hotel is further down the island from Oia and Fira, closer to Perissa Beach. It is located 30 meters from the black sandy beach.
With many restaurants and bars to choose from, this traditional Cycladic building meets contemporary chic with modern-style furniture. This hotel costs £150 a night.

This is a 10-minute walk to the hotel if you take public transport. The bus stops back at Fira bus station, making it easy to travel around the island.
The hotel has a central pool, fitness center, a tennis court, and two additional pools, including one for children. This hotel has a party-type feel.
I preferred the upmarket feel of staying in either Oia or Fira, but this hotel was stunning.

The breakfast buffet was one of our favorites. The selection is endless, and the views of the pool are incredible.
This hotel was bustling when we visited, making it challenging to navigate the buffet area.

3. Antoperla Luxury Hotel & Spa
Best Romantic Stay Boutique Hotel in Santorini

This was the most expensive hotel we stayed in, at £300 a night. It boasts a hot tub in each room for good reason!
The room and facilities reflect the cost of the stay. This luxury hotel is located only 100 meters from Perissa Beach in Santorini.

It is the only hotel spa in Perissa and has 18 private pools. Book a spa appointment to relax and unwind. We particularly enjoyed the food at the restaurant and bar.
The hotel also offered complimentary cocktails. As mentioned above, this is a calm, romantic hotel with no children. This hotel is ideal for you if you’re seeking a quiet stay.

While you may have your private pool and sunbeds, the hotel pool is beautiful and offers delicious cocktails. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind.
The rooms have air conditioning and feel cooler, a perfect contrast to the direct sun you’ll enjoy outside on your private balcony.
The breakfast options, however, were quite limited for a 5* hotel, but I’d still stay here again because of the rooms, service, and facilities!

Breakfast: 9/10

4. The Last Sunbeam- Fira
The Best Boutique to Stay at with a View on a Budget

The last of the four places to stay in Santorini, Greece – the best boutique hotels, luxury, and on a budget. This is an adult-only hotel in the heart of Fira.
It is located on the quieter side of the island. This was the cheapest hotel we stayed in at £132 a night.
This Santorini hotel is also very central. It is 600 metres from Fira Theotokopoulou Main Square and is situated very close to the Aegean Sea.
Fira Terminal bus station is around 5 minutes away downhill.

Any advice
Transportation—I wouldn’t recommend taking taxis. They can be expensive, and the island is so small. You can hire a bus, which costs a few euros.
For example, the drive from Fira to Oia is only 26 minutes. However, I remember waiting 15 minutes for a late bus, so it might be worth hiring a moped.
If you are staying on different sides of the island, a bus is your best bet with luggage if you’d rather hire a quad bike or moped, book in advance, as they were fully booked on the Island when we wanted to use one.
