Outdoor dining during covid- the phene
I’ve decided to dedicate a section of my blog to what restaurants to go to during covid times. This weekend we managed to get a booking for a Sunday roast at The Phene outside.
Covid Safety/Entering the restaurant:
At the time of writing this blog post, masks are required to be warn on entering a restaurant but you are able to take these off as you have sat down. We were greeted outside at a table set up with the obligatory hand sanitisers available for you to use. We were then taken and escorted to the courtyard and seated slightly in the shade under a tree. The decor was quite twee, with bold fairy lights across the garden and white parasols. Most of the tables appeared to be shaded which would be a blessing in the height of summer. The staff wore masks the entire time throughout serving our drinks and meal.

Food:
Being Sunday we all opted for a roast. I had the chicken which came with stuffing, potatoes, carrots, parsnips and broccoli. The others had Beef which came with a Yorkshire instead of the stuffing. We got some cauliflower cheese to share and some wine for the table.

Price:
The roast started at £16. I’d say for a roast in Chelsea, this isn’t horrendously expensive and you get a decent amount. Bottles of wine started at £22 and soft drinks £2.50.
