Top Things to Do in Canggu, Bali Indonesia. In this guide we will walk through some travelling tips to save your dollar. This cost guide is based on a month-long stay and with two sharing accommodation and transport. Accommodation: Make use of the homestay/guesthouses– at first I was hesitant to stay in these as I was under the impression you actually stayed in someone’s house! However, these are more like boutique hotels built by locals. They usually offer food services so breakfast is typically included in the price and you also have a daily maid service.
If you like to live life on the edge, only book for a day or two and visit other homestays to barter for cheaper rates.
Transport:
Airport shuttle: Contact the hotel before arriving in Canngu to see if you can arrange an airport shuttle, or ask if they can recommend a taxi service as this could save you a good chunk of money. If you order a taxi from the airport, it’ll be more expensive.
Daily transport: Use a Moped for daily transport. See if you can ask for a better rate for hiring a moped over a long duration. Or just hire for a few days and look nearby for cheaper rates.
Food & Drink: We did a bit of searching but we managed to find some decent places with main meals at under 50,000 IDR (around $4) — usually locally owned establishments.
Activities: Some more top things to do in Canggu, Bali Indonesia is visiting some places located nearby. For example activities like the Waterbom Park in Kuta, we booked on the govoyagin.com website. At the time there was a 15% off discount. Worked a treat! (Not paid for this link, just used this site a couple times travelling and would recommend

Where to stay
We stayed in Mojo Resort in Canggu, which cost just over $20 a night for two people to share a room— and this even included breakfast! The resort has 6 lambing huts, so there can only ever be a few guests. Rooms are a decent size and the bathroom is located at the back of the bungalow outside. These are really nicely done and don’t worry— they’re hidden from view!
Despite being close to a lot of the main attractions of Canggu, Mojo Resort is sort of hidden on a side road, giving the feeling of being quite closed off from the hustle and bustle. It’s great for relaxing in the day and to enjoy some peace and quiet. Loop Pool & Bar, Beach and Old Man’s are only an 8 min drive.

Potato Head Beach Club- (actually in Seminyak about 25 min drive). There isn’t an entry fee but you can pay 500,000 IDR (around $35) for a day bed, so you can opt to have a few drinks and save, but still experience what this place has to offer!

What it was like
I really liked this accommodation, not too many people stayed when we were there so we mainly got to use the pool on our own. I did find you had a short period to catch the sun here. Perhaps because of the big bungalows, the sun was often blocked.
If you want to meet a lot of people at your accommodation then this isn’t the place to stay. It isn’t exactly lively but we liked it for that reason as we wanted somewhere to relax. We chose instead to go to bars to meet people! (No late night wake ups from drunken guests!)
An important thing to note is Canggu isn’t like Kuta or Seminyak where there are central spots to easily walk around from place to place.
Any advice
Transport: I really think getting a moped is the key to a cheap trip here. You can get accommodation a little more removed and therefore less pricey— and mopeds are cheap!
Mopeds to rent per day should not be more than 60,000 IDR. Petrol will be on the side of the road 7,000 IDR per litre roughly and is usually served in old bottles for alcohol. Parking ranges in price— it can be free, but sometimes beaches will charge. This usually isn’t more than a few thousand IDR.
I recommended this location to friends who opted for taxi transport around the island so they were a little disappointed they couldn’t wander around on foot. In this case, I’d pick somewhere in the city centre.
